Does anyone know where I could get an internal SCSI CD-RW for my Beige G3? I was looking at the Yamaha 2100SZ, but no one seems to have that one in stock anymore. Yamaha makes newer models, but they stopped including Toast after the 2100 series and they do not support the Mac with driver/firmware updates for the new models (not to mention they cost a lot more). A search of cataloges and on-line stores turned up nothing.

I know all the arguments for getting an IDE or Firewire drive, but an IDE isn't an option for me and to get Firewire I'd need to buy a Firewire card and the drive would cost more than the internal SCSI (about an extra $150 all together). And I'd really prefer an internal solution. (Any internal Firewire drives? Why to all those third-party Firewire PCI cards have internal connectors anyway?)

I have a 4x one I can sell you that may be the fastest you can get. maby 8x max but I will sell u mine cheap. name a price and a might just give it to you. Try looking at shreve systems (sp?) they sell old computer stuff. My cdr (Yes only cdr) is a work horse for me i used it just last week. e-mail me and i will sell it to you for cheap. I use the new toast with it. and i have the cd with it too.

The internal ports in the g4's are weird also.
