Hello,

I noted Apple now has a 23" flat panel. Ive been thinking about the 22" for a long time, but won't gamble that kind of money for one with dead pixels.
they won't even talk to you about this.

didn't MacNN note that somebody is making a 24" flat panel at about 4.5 K a week or so ago? Id apreciate the reference.

thanks rotut

Only thing I remember seeing recently on this was that Samsung had introduced a 24" model at the end of February. See the article at Maccentral.

But it's a bit more expensive at USD$8,000.Here's the product page.

thanks! is is Sun. it is a little ugly, Im trying to find out other firms position on the dead pixels. I had hoped to get a 22 or maybe even the new 23 " Apple but they seem to make it a lottery: if you get dead pixels, too bad for you' can't imagine paying 3000 for dead pixels.

thanks rotut

ugly? i think it looks cool! it's got legs and feet! i bet if a computer-animated G4 iMac had a race against a computer-animated Sun 24" LCD, the Sun would win!

and at least it's not beige...too bad it's $1000 more than the ACD 24".

I don't think it's ugly at all... It looks like you can fit a sunblade right under it.. and perhaps it might even allow you to have a flat panel instead of one that tilts back by default....

yeah, that's one problem i have with the apple displays. i don't like the way they sit back at an angle; you can't get them completely vertical, or even have it tilt slightly downward.

If it tilted downward it would fall flat on it's face.. this is one thing that annoys me with the cinema display....

worse yet.. putting books under the back leg is NOT a good idea, since it puts a shitload more stress on the back leg

Would it not be possible to hang the thing from the ceiling? you could 'glue' two hooks to the back and string two steel wires to the ceiling and have a nice vertical cinema display. this would be cool if you actually used your cinema to watch movies.

Or you could simply lay the ACD flat on the ground and install four strenghtronic eyebolts in your ceiling, attach your bed to the eyebolts with firmomatic steel cable and then get a set of velcro sheets and strap yourself in.

Just a suggestion...
