iPod freeze after 1.1

I installed the updater a few days ago and since then my iPod will not mount on the desktop, will freeze at the welcome screen and when I try to charge it. During the freeze the hard drive will click and make noise then shut off only to repeat the process after a few seconds. The normal reset process does nothing. Any ideas? TIA. Tugboat

Mine froze immediately after the update. I just unplugged it and re-set it by holding down Play and Menu. It's been fine since the restart.
