I'm an owner of an MBP and i'm getting quite sick of being unable to play alot of my DVDs because of the region-code restrictions on the drive that somehow can't be defeated.
I've decided to go around the problem by getting an external DVD drive to play my DVDs, but i'm not even too sure whether this will work (since this will by my first external DVD drive purchase ever).
Will there be a need to flash the firmware of an external DVD drive in order to play DVDs regardless of region code (using VLC)? Are there other external DVD drives out there that have similar "undefeatable" region-locks in place, like the one in the MBP?
