Farallon suggests that their iPrint SL adapters work only with StyleWriter printers using GrayShare and ColorShare software.

I have a Personal LaserWriter 300 (which also has a GrayShare printer driver) that I'd like to connect to a G3 PowerBook (Firewire) using this product. Unfourtunatly, Farallon tells me that they've never tested the iPrint with anything but the StyleWriters.

Has anyone had any success or failure getting an iPrint SL to work with non-StyleWriter printers. It sure seems like it ought to work.

I have heard of mixed results at best using the iPrint SL with non-StyleWriters. If you're looking for an adapter to hook up that printer, I would look at Keyspan's Twin Serial adapter. It is a USB-Serial adapter. Their website (www.keyspan.com) has a lot of usefull information on specific printers (look to the compatibility chart page).
