I hope someone can answer several questions about the black wired MS Laser Mouse 6000, here it goes:
a.- [I think] this mouse comes with Mac controllers/drivers, but how good are those?, could be better to rely one third party software like "SteerMouse" -I have read great things about such software- or USB OverDrive -Microsoft’s own mouse and keyboard drivers were being done by Alessandro Montalcini, though-
b.- Is this mouse outside polished or unpolished?, it sounds pointless, but I don't like the feel from MS polished mice, I had a MS Wireless Optical Ice Mac Edition mouse, which feedback was terrible due to its polished outside.
c.- Do you need to use a mouse pad with this mouse?
d.- It doesn't seems to be 'that big' like other MS models and truth be told, my hands don't feel comfortable with such SUV-sized mice
This is the mouse I am referring to…
Thanks by any input.

It's kind of polished, but not overdone.
No mousepad needed. Works on every surface I've tried.
Not that big; fits well in my hand.

I have always liked Microsoft mice. Does anyone know who actually makes them?

Some ODM in China... but they're only sold under the Microsoft brand.

I was just thinking that the same mice might be available under a different brand name for less money.

I have had no luck with MS mice. I have had three MS Intellimouse Explorers die over four years. Never had any other mouse die on me...

the pictures in the thread seem to be more matte finish as opposed to the new egg link.

Yeah, I think the one I saw at Best Buy had more a matte finish, too. The newegg one looks like it just finished playing a game of crisco twister.
