I'm thinking about getting a Brother HL-1440 laser printer, but I'm a bit wary because a friend with an HL-12xx model says that he's had problems with the OS X drivers and with the print management software/extensions in OS 9.

So, I'm just wondering whether those who have the HL-1440 have had any similar problems. The real bottom line for me: how are the OS X drivers?

Tell your friend to check for the new OS X drivers, brother recently updated their site with newer drivers since the release of OS X 10.1

The print management in OS 9 only ever bothers me if I try and do a software update and have had background printing activated.
