I was looking for a LCD HDTV to hook up to my Mini for watching movies, but almost all of the good deals on HDTVs seem to have resolutions like 1366x768 instead of 1280x720. I know that when you use an LCD at a non-native resolution it won't look as good. So why do TV manufacturers do this? HDTV has two resolutions (1920x1080 and 1280x720) and it seems odd that they would use anything else as the native resolution for their flat panels. Any ideas why this would be?
As an aside, why do computer companies choose 16:10 instead of 16:9 for their LCDs?
