Anyone have any experiences of using a web-cam under OS X?

I really just want to be able to grab a frame and save it to a file. I can perl my way to anything more complex.

Cheers,
Fraser

I just downloaded a generic firewire driver for my web cam (iBOT). It seems to work fine. You will not be able to use it as a viewer, because it is just a driver (which you will have to buy, or else it will just work for 30 minutes each time). As a viewer I used BTV (pro or normal versio) as a demo. You will find other information on the site. This is the url which you can start from http://www.ioxperts.com/dcam.html

Hope it helps.

This driver will also work with the pyro web cam from adstech (firewire) http://www.ioxperts.com/dcam.html

I know that many webcams don't even work in OS X via classic! But if it's any use to you, the 3com HomeConnect webcam does work in OS X Classic mode.
