overpriced.

A smart buy would be getting a firewire enclosure with an Oxford chipset and a hard drive on their own. You get the benefit of longer warranties on each individual component and it will be far less expensive.

Ugh, LaCie is overpriced low-quality garbage. I'm throughly unimpressed with every LaCie drive I've used.

What capacity are you looking for? Or what price?

An enclosure is $40-50, and a drive is $0.30 to 0.50 per GB depending on size.

Here's an external 250GB Western Digital (7200 RPM - 8MB cache) hard drive with a USB 2.0/Firewire enclosure for $99.

i dont have one to add, but i have advice.

make sure there are reviews to read!!

alot of "Cheaper" harddrives die after about a year and you should read up on it before you commit to puting money into it/files on it. sometimes a little extra money can get you a better deal. a bit of advice that you proly knew but in case you didnt there it is.
