Hey all,
So I've got about 90 GB's of MP3's (and growing) and I'm starting to get nervous about having a drive go down (currently they're on 1 100GB drive). But how do I back that up? As far as I know there is no RAID 5 card for the Mac - so I was thinking about getting an Intel PC and getting Promise Technologies "SuperTrak™ SX6000" RAID 5 card (which would support up to 6, 133GB drives) - but I'd have a hell of a time setting tha up as I'm a Mac man! And the best I could do on a Mac is RAID 1 with a "VST UltraTek/66" (which would only let me mirror 2 drives - limiting my space and not providing any backup).
But I don't really want to go the Windows route - though for the above mentioned it really sounds the best, since I want to continue to use my Mac apps (Audion, iTunes). I guess I could use Dave to talk to the PC - but again, I'm a Mac man and learning Windows might be a stretch.
Any ideas on a Mac based solution (even one that's clearly obvious that I haven't thought of)?
Thanks,
BoulderDash
