Hi, my external firewiredrive (archos miniHD firewire 6Gb) won't mount on my powerbook g3 500mhz..not anymore

It was mountable before I reinstalled my macos 9.0.4. Now after installing the firewire-archos-extension the harddisk wont mount. however, the systemprofiler sees it it as a

"Atrash"
volume format ; macintosh pc exchange (ms-dos)
capacity 5.59 Gb
available 1.23 Gb
no write protection
file sharing : no

history :

Before reinstalling my powerbook2000 I changed the name of it from "untitled pc drive" (!) to "firewiredrive". to do this i disabled filesharing. note : the drive was always accepted (i guess)as a pc-drive. and I immediately started putting files on it.

drive setup (initialisation and firstaid) wont see it either. firewire is 2.4
