A news article that I'm pretty sure was from yesterday, August 23rd-- I joined macnn in order to post a comment yesterday-- seems to be gone today. Any suggestion what happened?

The article was about a patent granted to Apple for some sort of variable display technique. There were lots of comments that seemed to have very differing interpretations of what was being described in the patent; I thought it was patenting the idea of setting changeable displays inside of physical, pushable buttons, so that a number or an icon, or text, instead of being printed on a button, could change when wanted. The patent article discussed this technology as allowing a greater usable area on the display screens of various devices.

So what happened to the article and the comments? Were they removed, or am I just looking in the wrong place?

I just searched all the news articles published on the 23rd in the News Publishing System, and couldn't see anything discussing a patent... odd

Yes, that's it. I didn't realize how old it already was when I posted a comment. Thank you. Now I see I'm more paranoid than I thought.

I'm afraid we at MacNN are far too busy moving posts about networking from the PowerBook forum and shutting down flame wars to be able to censor posts about real things. And I don't think any of us would even consider doing so-we're Pro-Apple here, you know?
