I've got the Ariston bundle, which was two USB cameras and iSee-U2 softare. The cameras aren't bad, but I'll bet there are better ones out there. The softwre was horrible, by the way. I hated the interface. I ended up getting the free beta of
iVisit which works pretty well, especially for free.
But I'm thinking of upgrading. Web cams must be better by now. And there should be better Mac software bundled with them.
What's a good web cam nowadays? I use it to video conference with my mom. We both have broadband connections. The trouble is that she's got my old Power Computing tower (upgraded to a 200 MHz G3, but still slow). I think she's running OS 8.6, if that matters.
How compatible are PC web cams? If I was willing to forego a Mac software bundle, could I get a better and/or cheaper PC web cam? They have tons of them.
