I have a UMAX 1220U and I think it might be broken. I have tried all the software, Vista Scan 3.1 and 3.5.1 and even MagicScan. I had uninstalled and reinstalled it several times and I even did a clean install for other reasons and tried installing the Software again. So I think that the scanner it self might be broke. Question is how do I find out. The power light is on, and yes it's hooked up right.

Thanks

What system and mac are you running it on? Using a hub or USB port on mac? Does the software run, just not find the scanner?

Any other details that might help us dig into this?

Call UMAX ... maybe you have to install things in a particular order (see my post on the Acer 320U). You might get lucky, as I did, & get someone that knows what's going on.

I got it to work, appearently the VistaScan install program was not putting it's information into the TWAIN folder. I installed once and that was the message I got, a second installed fixed the problem.

Thanks for the input.
