I recently picked up a Kingwin 3.5" USB2.0 enclosure to use with my mini (mating up with a 250gb 7200 rpm 8mb cache western digital I had lying around).

Product Details:
Kingwin External Enclosures, External Enclosure, MS-350U-S

It works fine, but I'm not sure if I'm getting the speed I should be. I know that USB2.0 in reality only runs a small fraction of the theoretical speed, but I'm only getting (guesstimating from filetransfers) about 1-2mb/s.

Cheap hardware or is something wrong?

edit: tried different cabling / usb ports.. still slow. USB1.0 slow.

Just did some reading, ends up it'll only run USB2.0 in Windows. Linux/OSX is USB1.1. Not cool
