airport extreme + dorm

	Alright, I'm have a slight issue with the Airport Extreme Base Station set up. In my dorm, we access internet through ethernet jacks on the wall, and the thought of my laptop being tethered to a desk by cords bothers me, so I'd like to have wireless internet. How do I go about doing this with the ethernet jack and the Airport base station? I plugged the airport into said ethernet jack and entered the IP adress and what not, but it didn't work. What do I do? edit: sorry, I just realised this is the wrong forum.
