I searched the forum but i didn't understand about repartition a previous partitioned HD.
I have a 250Gb external FW HD and i partitioned in one 160GB with HFS+ and another 90Gb in Fat32 to use for backup the windows machine that i have too.
I want to partition the 160Gb in one with 60Gb and another with 100Gb (both in HFS+)
My question is if i will loose the content in the Fat32 partition, because i know that i will loose what is in the 160Gb partition, but that is not the problem. My problem is loosing what i have in the fat32 partition.
Thanks

Yes, you will lose the data when you repartition with Disk Utility.

On a side note, you should always back up data before repartitioning, even when using non-destructive repartitioning apps.

iPartition can repartition without losing any data. However, it is US$45. It is a universal binary.

thanks for the answers, i was hoping there was a safe free method to do that.
Why Disk Utility can't do that?

Because Apple didn't write it that way. Conversion is more complicated than "nuke and create."

Maybe Leopard? It'd certainly be useful for Boot Camp v.2!
