Hey, the shop i'm planning to buy my computer+display is selling 2004 displays for the same price of new displays.

I'm planning on buy a new 23" ACD, the design of 2004and2006 is equal, i think the difference is in brightness and contrast, is a real big difference between the two ? should i try to get a 2006 one ?

For the same price it is a non brainer… new model of course, if we were talking about a huge difference between the newer model's price and the former one, then you could go with the 'older' model as long as it doesn't show any known issue… but being honest, if they don't offer you the 2004 model any cheaper than the current display… no room to doubt.

You are right about the difference between them:

Brightness: 270 cd/m2 versus 400 cd/m2

Viewing angle: 170º both horizontal & vertical versus 178º both horizontal & vertical

Response time: 16 ms versus 14 ms
