It seems these days that zip disks are impractical as they are more expensive than CDs by far. does anyone know of any cheap sources for ZIPs and/or CD-R discs? Thanks.

The best I have done with Zips would be $5.00 per disk for a set of ten after a little bargaining down from$7.00 per disk from the local computer shows here in Southern CA. This isn't counting the $5 entry fee. Perhaps, you might do as well there in Oregon.

Zip disks really are horrid deals when compared to CD-R's, or even CD-RW's.

At my local Best Buy, I recently bought a 50-pack of CD-R's for $39.99, and a 10-pack of CD-RW's for $13.99.

I also have a Zip drive in my old SCSI beige G3... haven't bought any disks in about a year... last time I did, it was a 5-pack for a big ol' $49.99. Geez, to think that, for $10 less, I can buy 32.5 GB of CD-R's over 500 MB of Zip disks...
Now which is the better deal?
Be happy.

Orb disks are quite nice... $30 or less fo 2GB, plus they're fast and rewritable. I use mine for mp3's - that way the music doesn't skip as much when launching apps and such. Still, a little more expensive than CD's, but worth it IMHO.

Sorry, I guess that had nothing to do with the topic at all. Shame on me.
