A bunch of people around here (including myself) would like 1. a way to get digital photos onto the iPod (so you don't have to lug a laptop all over the place) and 2. A USB interface option. Although I only really car about item number 1 (since I have a firewire mac), I feel for those that do want USB. Anyway, for us digital photo users.. shouldn't the iPod be able to do this??? Check it out..

Click me to see the MINDSTOR...

Now, if only the iPod would have a modified firmware and a Firewire to USB adapter, I could then connect my Sony F707 digital camera to the iPod, have it automatically download my images and I could then re-use the memory stick.. sigh... please apple... puleeeeezzzzz....

Or you could just get a digital camera that had FireWire...

...something like the Nikon D1X springs to mind. (And some people said the iPod cost a lot. They are going to faint at this!)

Sure would be cool if it was possible to do this. In fact it would increase the likelyhood of me buying an iPod!

Don't get me wrong, I think iPod is great, but I'm not much for carrying music around, so I can't really justify getting one for that purpose alone.

Cheers!

Well, I listen to a lot of music and am really considering getting the iPod. I saw one yesterday at the apple store. The firewire HD things works out for me when I'm working... But MORE so if it were windows firewire compatible. (I just have to cross across campus to get to a firewire mac). But that extra 1 gig even that isn't tied to my music would be GREAT if I could hook up my digicam to it!

As for the firewire camera... I think I'll stick to the consumer-prosumer market for now! Again, if only they had the firmware and adapter. Cost couldn't be more than $40

oh well..
