Cnet Report:

"Amid slackening shipments, photo giant Agfa will exit the digital camera and consumer scanner markets in North America by year's end. "

Dammit! That means NO OS X driver support for their SnapScan 1212 u! Great, so I'll have to buy a new scanner down the road...

I have an Agfa EPhoto CL30 digital camera too. Crappy, (got it for free) but it uses CompactFlash cards that I put into my VST Tri-Media Reader.

...waiting for VST to release an OS X driver (tried the beta...card reader don't work) for that too!

Ok, I've let off my steam...

I think you're being a little presumptious. Just becuase they're leaving the market doesn't mean there won't be any drivers. It means they're stopping development of new products and not necessarily stopping support. You shouldn't give up all hope yet.

Agfa has already had the drivers and scanner software free for download for months.

And ultimately, if the scanner works with the beta driver, what point is there getting anything else.

This also means the already cheap Agfa scanners will be blown out even
cheaper. So much the better.
