I just got a great deal on a new USB zip drive. I have searched and read through some of the old topics, but did not exactly find a conclusion to some of the questions raised:

1) Does my imac dvse (recently upgraded to OS 9) have all the necessary drivers to use my new zip drive or should I install the iomega software?
2) If I need to share some data with my PC friends, do I only need to use PC formatted discs and drag the file to it?
3) Can I use the USB port on the left side of my keyboard or do I need to buy a hub?
4) Is there still a problem with having a zip drive and the Epson 740 hooked up at the same time?

Thanks for all your help. I should be receiving my drive tomorrow and would like to know the best way to set it up.

1) do not install iomega software
2)i dunno, have no pc friends that i need do this with
3)depends on how many USB devices you have hooked up at any given moment and if you have trouble, get a hub
4)your mileage may vary

you should be able to share files with your pc using friends, provided you, or they, use pc formated discs. i do this all the time to my multimedia/graphic arts courses, and my stupid state school is all peecee centric. if you're going to share your usb zip drive, however, make sure they're running the latest build of windows 98, b/c usb support isn't included in earlier version, and the fact that windows sucks, but we won't get into that.
