Anyone have any experience using the new ZipCD from Iomega?

I've had good experience with their peripherals in the past, and am interested in getting a CDRW drive, but wanted to test the waters with the Mac faithful

I believe the ZipCD is actually a SONY mechanism so maybe that's an extra element to consider.

What machine are you connecting to? Are you talking USB CDR? USB is slow and can be prone to erratic behaviours when writing CD's. If you have coffee mornings, the extra coasters may come in useful!

Seriously, if you're planning to do a lot of burning, you should really consider SCSI. A 4x will take(at least) 20 minutes to burn a(full) CD. It's dead boring and inconvenient if you only have one machine! 8x is comfortable and LaCie have just unveiled a 12x32, although I've heard no reviews. Firewire toasters are also starting to appear.

PS - If you've had good experiences with Iomega peripherals you are quite fortunate. Iomega stuff is almost as buggy as Wacom stuff!!!

I have a revb iMac, 8.6, 160Ram.
I use a Sony Spressa CDRW Drive and have never had any problems with it.
If you read enough posts hear, I think you will find *erratic* behavior with almost *every* peripheral discussed.
4X is the max burn speed, it seems 2X is best for audio CDR's.
Sorry this doesn't answer the Iomega question. I just wanted to pass a long a positive USB CDRW experience.
I bought the Spressa for $199 about a month ago at CompUSA. So far about 20 burns, 0 coasters.
