When I visited this issue last it was suggested that the USB adapters were flaky at best and for all intents and purposes money would be better served investing in a newer printer.

I'm actually quite fond of my ole' 2500 and it doesn't have many reams on it. Have things improved since then? What capabilities would compromised?

Seeing as you can get the Epson 740 for only $79, which is about twice what an adapter would cost you, I'd opt for a native USB printer which is better in every way compared to your Stylewriter.

Oh, and no, things haven't really improved with the adapters.
