External FW Harddrive won't spin down!

	I have an 80 GB FW Maxtor drive, and while it mounts properly ... the thing simply will NOT spin down for me under 10.1 when I put the system to sleep! To be more accurate, I should say that it does spin down when I put it to sleep .... however, once the system has completely gone to sleep it spins back up! The only way I can get it to spin down at that point is to unplug it (considering how it doesn't have an on/off switch). Any idea how to get this thing to spin down when I put it to sleep and STAY that way? OAW
