What are people's thoughts regarding partitioning a 40 GB HD (IBM 60GXP) for iMovie, digital pics and Photoshop scratch? Is it smart to put the operating system on this HD or leave it on my original drive? I'm currently running 9.1 but will upgrade to X at some point in the future.

Photoshop should have as large a partition of completely contiguous space (NO other files, apps or anything stored there) as possible. Preferably this would be on a different drive as Photoshop and images.
I use a 5GB partition solely for a Photoshop scratch disk.
