it still doesn't work. I was VERY careful this time to follow the proper static discharge precautions and I have done this a few times so I'm sure that I have the connector on the card seated properly in the mezzanine slot. I keep geting an error message saying the "Pro TV in use by another application" when I try to get a new video display. The edit, setup and record pull down menus are also greyed out. I tried reinstalling the application software after I installed the card, but it is acting just like the last one. The only indication I have that the card is properly installed is the clock in the tuner window shows the correct time. I just tried starting up from both orange CD's that came with the computer, and I tried resetting the PRAM. Neither of those worked. I'll try a software restore tomorrow if my wife gets her documents backed up. Will this reset any firmware or ROM updates that I have installed since getting the computer? Once again, I have a revision B iMac that has been refurbished by Apple. If you have the iProRaid-TV card, please check to see if you have a refurbished unit. It will be on the box or maybe in any printed documentation you got with your computer. Thanks for everybody's help.

Val

(revised for spelling)

I'm assuming you're running 8.5.1 or 8.6. A clean install won't affect any of the firmware updates but if you have installed ROM Update 1.0 that updated the ROM from 1.5 to 1.6, you will have to reperform that update after the clean install. This is because the ROM is a software ROM in the System Folder on the HD not in an EEPROM on the board.

Really sorry to hear you having such problems 'cos the card is great when it's working!

ValVashon, I am sorry to say but it seems as though I am having the same problem you are. I hope that the reinstall works for you and me. Let me know If you have any other ideas and I will do the same for you.
