I got a seagate baracuda 7200.10 400gb hd and an enclosure. I hook everything up and when i plug in the fire wire. it says Mac cant read it. Im not shure what to do. Im pretty shure i set it up right but wonderin if anyone could help me. Or did i just waste a bunch of money. Please help.
I'm not positive, but i think you need to reformat the hard drive. Go into disk utility, click on the hard drive then erase it in one of the formats that the mac will read.
Powerbook G4 1.5 ghz, 1gb ram, 64 VRAM----5G Ipod and a Shuffle
Most "OEM" hard drives (like the Seagate 7200.10 I got today) come unformatted. Usually the "retail" models and drives already in external enclosures will come preformatted as FAT32 or NTFS.
