hello ... i am lending a LaCie pocketdrive 20GB from a friend, however i have not been able to mount the disk with firewire and i would hate to use USB, which has worked. i have tried in X and 9 with no luck. i can only use it for about a day, so i need to get going on this soon. any help?

are you using lacie's drivers? if not, you might want to download the latest update from <a href="http://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/download.cfm?id=7D0AF1E1-9D41-11D5-97E00090278D3ED0" target="_blank">here</a>.

thank you - i will try that when i get home, i guess i just assumed it would work when i plugged it in, since it did with USB. thanks

You shouldn't need any drivers for the LaCie drive. I have one (40G) and it works fine in OS 9 and X without installing anything.

(Well it *did* work fine until yesterday when it seems to have blown up during a thunderstorm. Now it doesn't work on either system! I knew I shouldn't have waited to get a UPS. That's now my next purchase

)
