Has anyone experienced problems with their EZQuest Boa 8x4x32. I'm trying to use it on a Beige 266 G3 MT with an OrangeLink Firewire/USB card on it. I keep on getting "Error -401 Unstable SCSI Connection" I called EZQuest and kinda ruled out the Orangemicro card as that is what they tested the drive with. The told me to optimize my drive... didn't help. Any suggestions/work-arounds?

Hi:
I have the Firewire version of your drive and I haven't had any problems so far. I did find that the whole setup seemed much happier with a minimal set of extensions and the maximum cache setting in Toast. You problem seems more complicated though.

Good luck!

I think it's the orangemicro piece of **...errrrr Firewire Card. I remember someone else posting a similar problem here a while ago.

FWIW, I run my EzQuest Boa 8/4/32 without changing my loaded extension set, without rebooting, after force quitting other stuff

and I've yet to make a Coaster (well, none that were not MY fault

The drive is very good, except for the audio "blip", but Ezquest Tech support says they're working on it. (rather, they say adaptec is working on it, but you get the idea)

Hi

Sean, it was probably me who posted the same problem a while ago. I still suspect that it's the card but am not sure. I have gotten a few good burns out of it and on top of that, EZQuest themselves says that they tested the drive with an orangemicro card. I dunno, I have alot of extensions, maybe I should try a new minimum set and see how that works.
