I've tried burning audio CD's using Toast Titanium and they won't play in my car. (they play everywhere else I've tried) I've used 650MB disks and 700MB, I've burned aiff files and directly duped from unprotected retail disks. Nothing will work, I give up. Anyone else have this problem? What can I do?

I had this problem and it turns out that the sony CD deck in my car was very picky about which blank CDs I used. In my case those with a blue dye would not work while those with a green dye or gold or silver would. I'd suggest that you try using another brand of CDs.

I also had this problem with CDs that I had burned with iTunes. I agree with the previous poster that (my) car music system is very choosy about which CDs it will or won't play. It may just be conincidence but after much trial and error I have ascertained that it doesn't seem to like TDK disks very much but is quite happy to play Maxell or Verbatim ones.
Very strange, particularly since I have a very sensitive (original AudioLab) home system setup which doesn't seem to care what brand or colour disk I play.
Can anyone else shed any light on this? <img border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" title="" src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" />

Are you using Audio CD-R's and giving the RIAA their fair share?
The RIAA gets a bigger royalty for every Audio CD-R sold, and some CD players won't play music from a CD unless you use an Audio CD-R.
On the other hand, it is entirely possible that your CD player will like certain companies' CD-R's and not others. I think they're all made with different processes.

Turns out thought I was at fault. I wasn't closing the session when I burned the disc (make sure in Toast you click on 'Write Disc') and I wasn't using iTunes at the time. FWIW, I use the Office Depot brand and have never had a coaster.
