I have a client who wants to control every infra-red device (TV, Sirius radio, DVD, air conditioner) using software on his Mac. Apparently, these exists for Windows, but he hasn't found anything that is Mac compatible. He wants to eliminate all his IR remotes and use his Mac instead. He doesn't want a universal remote like the ones Logitech makes. He wants "teachable" universal remote software; you point the original remote control at the IR receiver/transmitter and the software "learns" the codes of the remote--any remote--that's pointed at it. He wants to use the software to do scripted events so that he can initiate a series of actions with a single click (e.g., turn off the TV, turn off the air conditioner, turn on radio, set to "easy listening" and set volume to 50%).
Does anyone know of anything like this for Mac OS X?
