My friend has a Power PC 603 300 mHz 64 mb ram running OS 7.61 and keeps getting print error -39. Anyone have an idea what the problem is? He can't print at all.

It might not fix the problem, but if he has a 300 MHz machine, I'd definately recommend upgrading to at least OS 8.1. He could probably even handle OS 8.5+. And RAM's so cheap now, there's no excuse for not dropping some more of that into there. Anyway, System 7 is so blooming old, Lord knows what could be happening. We're on the brink of UNIX OS X here and he's running System 7? Nuh uh... :o

Alex, it would really help if you told us whether or not your friend had been printing all along or not. Plus you might mention the brand and model of printer.

Thanks for your replies.
He is using an Epson Stylus Color 600 with virtual memory on. The problem first appeared about a month ago. He is transferring old files from an older mac to this one through floppies. I have a feeling its a memory problem but he says the files are small. But 64 mb seems skimpy.
