Does anyone else have problems with this thing skipping and/or sticking? Mine does it CONSTANTLY, regardless of what kind of surface I'm using it on. The cursor sticks, stops, jumps, and even disappears at times. It basically doesn't work more often than it does. From what I can observe, when it is working, the red light is brigher at the front.
At this point I've just given up and am using the trackpad until I can find a decent mouse.

Mine did the same thing and it annoyed the heck out of me. Strangly enough, though, the problem seems to have disappeared after I updated the firmware in my PowerBook G4. It hasn't freaked out on me since. I can't say why this is, though. Is your firmware up to date in your PowerBook?

Dare I ask what at all makes this question PowerBook-specific?
Please use more discretion in the future when choosing where to post your queries.
