I know that I'm supposed to drag the iPod icon to the trash to unmount before I unplug firewire but the icon flashes a couple of times on the desktop and then disappears. I'm guessing that it coincides with completion of syncing with itunes, but I want to make sure that I'm not doing anything horrible to my G4.
Should the icon stay visible on the desktop even after its done updating the playlists? Is there another way to unmount if there is no icon on the desktop?
