i was recently in france

and i purchased a few dvds

and when i tried to watch them......
it said i had to change the region
and it said that i can only change it 4 times

so i changed it
watched the movie

now what happens when i wanna pop in my american dvd;s?
and then i wanna watch a french one
and then a american one

and i change it 4 times just cause i have 2 dvd's from different regions


this is rediculous

they are telling me i cant own 2 diff dvd's from diff regions

i cant beleive it

anyone know how to get around this

other wise
its a waste of money for me on those dvds

ill never watch them again

You'll have to flash the firmware of your drive to make it region free. Go here:

you'll then need a program to handle region changes (the OS counts them down even when the drive doesn't). You can use a program called "region", part of DVD toolkit found at the above site. Or you can use "fair use", found here:
