Well, about 9 months ago i upgraded from my iMac 266 w/ 6gig HD to my iBook SE 466 w/ 10gig HD. Then i got involved in digital video editing, and slapped over 600 MP3's onto it, and i NEED A BIGGER HD!!! So, i've been looking around at different models and different sizes, and here's what i've found...

There's an 80gig Maxtor external firewire HD for $380
and
a Western Digital 60gig external firewire for $350.

Now, i know that the WD is a 5400rpm drive, while i can't find out the speed on the Maxtor. Is that WD drive going to be faster than the Maxtor, and if it is, is it worth me loosing 20gigs over $30? Thanks for the help!!!
Specs:12" PowerBook-1.33GHz, 768 PC2700, Airport Express, Panther (10.3.9), iSight, 15GB 3G iPod

Both are 5400 rpms. At barely more than a buck a gig difference, I'd go for 80. If you ever run out of space again, it will cost more than $30 to get another 20GB. If you really get into digital video as I have, you'll be amazed how fast that space will be gone. I have a 75GB and a 40GB internal in my G4 and am saving up for an external FW because I need the room.
