If I understand correctly, it seems iTunes's volume is the only one that may affect output on speakers connected through Airport Express. This is fine, except that the computer remote's volume control only affects the system volume, not the iTunes volume.

Any way to let the remote change the iTunes volume, or - even better - to get the system to play through the speakers wirelessly?

This, by the way, is out of sheer laziness. As in, when the laptop is in such a position to merit using the remote, there is no reason whatsoever I should not unplug the speakers from the Airport and put them in the laptop. Nevertheless... I'm curious.
