I'm in the market for an external DVD burner and want to get toast too. Has anyone had experience with this LaCie - d2 DVD±RW with LightScribe - FireWire, Double Layer and Toast® 7 Titanium for Mac
or other burners from Lacie?

I've had good experience with LaCie products in general- they are well made and last a long time. I would def. buy a LaCie product, I have no complaints at all.

189.00? That's a bit high. No doubt LaCie products are sweet, but I'm happy with an External Lite-on Dual Layer DVD-RW that I got from Office Max for 69.00 No lightscribe, but I don't like the idea of having to buy special CDs and DVDs for that purpose.

The drive is $169 at Macmall.... part of the reason it costs so much is that it includes the full version of Toast 7 Platinum.

LaCie? No, no way, and hell no.

Pioneer DVR-111D is $30. A great enclosure is $40. The full Toast Titanium is only $60 after $20 MIR.
