Does anyone know where to find software to run Iomega Click Pcmcia drive on a Mac. I bought 2 hoping to use them on my TIG4 500 & PIsmo 500. Iomega says to buy external usb to pcmcia & their drivers will work! That defeats the purpose of the small drive!
Thanks
Steve

There are no drivers. I already went through this with Iomega, and their Click, (PocketZip drive). The only way to use this on your Mac, is with the Pocketzip PC Card dock. You see, i bought one of these drives, and it came bundled with the dock, (USB). Silly me, I thought since it was a PCMCIA complient, and Mac OS 9 has no trouble mounting my CompactFlash PCMCIA card adapter it would work without drivers. So I plugged the PocketZip drive into my Ti's card slot, and nothing. Iomega says the only way to use it on the Mac, is with the dock, so I said, it's going back.
PC Card dock I received with my PocketZip drive:

WARNING! Conspiracy theory follows:
I am starting to think that Iomega has disabled Mac support for this drive deliberately. It is the only possible explanation.
Scenario: Iomega seeks Intel (developer of Cardbus technology) support in implementing the Clik! PC card drive (later renamed Pocket Zip for obvious reasons -- COD). Intel says: "Okay, we will help you develop this product, as long as it only supports x86 compatible architecture. Iomega, deeply in the red, and lacking development funding, has no choice but to agree.
Think about it. There is no other viable reason why Iomega would not be able to easily develop drivers for Clik! PC card support on Macintosh.
Question: Would it be possible/legal to reverse engineer the Pocket Zip drivers for PC and develop drivers for the Mac, separately from Iomega? Third party drivers have been written for countless devices before. Why not this one?

Oh... and Tooki: Before you get your panties in a bunch with your rallying scream of "Peripherals Forum!", this thread specifically concerns CardBus, which you might be aware, is specific to PowerBooks.

Tonton: Is the PocketZip drive a PowerBook? No?
The issue here is not CardBus... it's whether said drive will work on a Mac. Non-PowerBook owners may already own PC Card docks and wonder about this product.
Ok.... off to Peripherals this goes.

I too feel this belongs in Powerbook forum. I don't want to use a external drive. I wanted to use the PCMCIA for the insertable drive!
I still think only Powerbook users will be able to answer this question.
