No, call up Apple, early adopters got an automatic 1 year extended warranty.

Also, the new 10 gig iPod is much better and a better deal then when it originally came out.

If I had not bought my Dual 450 MP 18/24? months ago I could have bought a Dual 1 Gig for the same price now I WAS JIPPED....

I Bought a iBook less than 2 months later it has a radeon... I WAS JIPPED...

Grow up that's life...

The HD manufacturer has had more time to improve reliability</li>
Apple has had time to improve on any mistakes with the design.</li>
Early "adopters" have had there iPod for longer</li>
You can buy the remote and the case sucks it have my <a href="http://www.sfbags.com" target="_blank">own case</a> which is just great.</li>
The firmware can be upgraded to the newer one so you not miss out.</li>
Most items get a longer warranty the longer they are in production. (Cars are a good example some now have lifetime corrosion guarantees that was not around 5 years ago...)

Seriously everyone seems to have become cheap skates recently.
If you can afford an iPod you can afford insurance for it. If you don't want to pay insurance you write your own and don't cry when it all goes pear shaped....

The 90 day thing was BS, but probably smart for Apple. I was going to buy mine from CompUSA as another poster had suggested. Now that Apple is supporting the iPod for a year, I feel better about buying it from Apple. Can someone confirm that you can purchase the CompUSA warranty even if you didn't buy the product from them and at any time. I thought some guy here did something like that. Thanks.
