Does anyone know of a Mac compatible hand held GPS unit? Everything seems to be serial and PC based...

Thanks!

Go to: www.gpsy.com
Gypsy is a GPS application for Macintosh and their site has tons of good information and links. They sell a Keyspan serial-to-USB adaptor (for $30 I think) that should allow you to connect most GPS units to a USB port. They also have package deals that include their software, maps on CD, and the adaptor.

EdwardS3 beat me to it. GPSy is great for GPS. She has been doing this for several years and supports a variety of GPS models. The site is a good resource for this topic in general.

Thanks for reviving this thread, MadMacs.

What a pleasure to see that Karen Nakamura is working on GPSy again! It will be incredibly nice to have this app's functionality in OS X.

There are some very recent posts (w/in the last month) from Karen about her work on GPSy Pro X in the GPSy forum (linked from the main GPSy page). Check it out.

It's on the main GPSy page. It's just that Karen calls it a "Chat" forum. See
