Seems I remember some kind of rumor floating a few months back about Apple planning a 25" Cinema Display (announced when they cut the price of the 22" Cinema from $3999 to $2999). Anyone know or hear anything else about this??

The current lineup makes sense to me: 22"/17"/15", I don't see any room for a mega Cinema @25" but if they are successful, it's be a heck of a monitor!
If there were no God, it would be necessary to invent him.

Actually the res of the 22" is 1600x1024 in a 16:10 ratio. It looks great, and a low end ATI Rage128 can run it. But now that Apple is shipping better video cards in the pro machines, they ought to consider raising the resolution to 1920x1200. The usable real estate of the screen would be large enough to negate the need for a second monitor for all but color proofing.
Apple: bumping prices, not specs.

You people need to stop taking these rumors so seriously. They're the root cause as to why most people are whining about why there wasn't a whole lot announced at the Apple keynote at MWNY. These rumors are also indirectly responsible for the stock price being this low. Apple never said they were developing an LCD iMac which they probably are but how do you know for certain and what makes you think they would've have announced them at MWNY when we know LCD screens haven't gotten cheap enough yet? It seems everyone, including myself, has been spoiled by Apple in the past. We're now taking them for granted and it's not helping the company or ourselves as their community of supporters. Rumor sites aren't meant to be taken at face value though they are interesting to see whatever info they come up with but you should always take these rumors with a very light grain of salt or none. However, everyone, either consumer or analyst, is taking these rumors seriously and as a result, they are in for a major disappointment. When that happens, you can only blame yourself, the rumor sites, and the market analysts who are just as guilty as yourself for believing these rumors in the first place. I think these analysts are just manipulating the stock price for their own benefit even if they have twist the facts around. You really can't blame Apple except that they could've handled the wording about their future outlook a little better back when they announced their financials.

Anyway, you people shouldn't hold off buying anything based on these rumors. Don't whine about not buying anything b/c you've heard the company was gonna come out with something better when it's not necessarily true. You probably don't have the money anyway.

I do music/graphics/web design and I use 2 19" monitors at 1600x1200 each (ie. 3200x1200). I'd like more space.

Nobody makes a 25" LCD commercially yet. Samsung has the biggest at 24", don't remember the resolution. Bout $6K or so.

I think I'd be severly beaten if I made a website that large. I normally use one for Photoshop and the other for Dreamweaver. And when I do music I have Windows from Max/MSP and Reason all over the place.
