Since (clean) installing OS 9.1 and IomegaWare 2.8, I can't open Iomega Tools. I get an error message about needing driver v5.01 or higher. The Iomega Driver in my extension is v6.0.8.
I checked Apple System Profiler and found that if I boot without a disk in the external SCSI Zip-100 drive, it loads driver v3.2.1 (!), but if I boot with a Zip disk formated with v6.0.8, Apple System Profiler shows that driver loaded. In that case Tools work okay.
I searched the disk for anything with "iomega" in its filename and couldn't find anything other than the most recent installs. I even did a search for invisible files, and did't find anything.
I've been playing email tag with Iomega for a few days now. (To their credit, they do respond, ususally within a few hours) But they keep asking the same questions and offering the same suggestions (download IomegaWare 2.8, etc.) none of which work.
Found it:
Doh! It was the Hard Disk Speedtools Cartridge Mounter (v3.2 of course) loading before Iomega. Put a ~ in front of the HDST name so it would load after and now Tools work.
