I put a Maxtor 250GB HD in my new Mac Pro, and the drive takes forever to mount. I'm talking a good 60 seconds or so. Once it's mounted, everything is fine, and I can use the drive normally. But the first time I try to use it, I get the spinning beachball for a very long time.

I looked in Energy Saver, and the option for putting hard disks to sleep is turned off. Any ideas?

Is it formatted NTFS or something weirder?
