I have a Lime DV 400 iMac, and the mouse is really acting weird. It will just plain stop working until I unplug and replug it. I think I might be a heat problem, but the temperature is in the high 70's (no AC). The USB plug seems very warm when I take it out. I've been shutting it down for a couple hours at a time, then trying to use it. It is cool when I start it, and the mouse works fine, But after 30-45 minutes of use, it will start to freeze every few minutes or so. Actually, its frozen right now. I didn't move any important extentions, though I did move ColorSync out of my System folder, cuz I dont use it.

Try this.....unplug the mouse from the keyboard and plug it directly into the Imac.....if the problem goes away, buy a USB hub and plug your mouse into that.

Cheers, Sebastian

Nope, it will eventually fail everywhere. I had someone suggest that the USB could be shorting out. I'll also email my MUG and see what they say. Any other suggestions?

Just an update on it... I zapped the PRAM and trashed the mouse prefs. Everything seems to be working ok for now. I also rebuilt the desktop (just for fun! )

Transfering this topic to the Peripherals forum...

(btw, I have a 3-button Logitech optical mouse that I got for $29. It's pretty nice, but the drivers sort of suck...the mouse won't work with some very popular games. I'm thinking of using the USB Overdrive drivers to replace the Logitech ones...)
