I have 2 Lacie d2 drives. I had one connected to other via Firewire 800 and then one connected to my Macbook Pro. All was working fine and then my system crashed and I restarted and I can't get one of the d2 drives to mount again. I have tried connecting it, by itself, to my Macbook Pro without success. I have pressed the restart button on it, disconnected the power, turned my Macbook Pro off for an extended period (to try and reset the bus) without success. The d2 seems to load up and run fine - it just won't mount. I can't see it in Disk Utility either. I do see it in the System Profiler though. I have tried connecting via Firewire 400 also without success. The other d2 drive works fine. Any suggestions?

I have the exact problem. If you physically unplug your drive's power source and then plug the power back in, then OS X will see it properly.

I don't know why this is happening, and Google hasn't come up with any answers.
