Don't ask me how, but my Apple 17 in LCD screen has a new 2 inch hairline scratch that is absolutely driving me crazy. I just got off of the phone with an Apple technician, and he figured it would be about $1500 to get it fixed. $1500!!!!!!!!!! I paid $999 for the display last August!

I'm extremely frustrated. Is there anything I can do to fix this scratch other than buying a new display?

thanks,

lw

See if you can pick up Displex somewhere. It is meant to take the scratches off of mobile phones and PDA's but I've used on an LCD before and it works a treat. Sometimes you can pick up a tube at ebay or yahoo auctions.

call apple, get upset, etc, etc, etc, etc, just keep going up to customer relations.

that should do it.
