Pardon this newbie question - not fully understanding how MAC video works - can you somehow use dual monitors with a MacBook Pro? If no - can you do it with the new MAC MINI (Intel chip)

thank you very much.

You can use a second monitor with a MacBook Pro, it has a DVI output on it to connect to an external monitor in addition to the built in screen. You can't put two monitors on a Mac mini because it only has one DVI display output to connect one monitor.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

Do you mean two external monitors or the internal monitor and one external?

If you mean the former, you can use two or three VGA monitors (CRTs or LCDs) with the supplied DVI-VGA converter and Matrox's DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go, respectively. Ditto for the Mac mini.

If you mean the latter, you're good go to with the MacBook Pro; obviously can't do that with a Mac mini.

BTW, "MAC" is Media Access Control; you mean "Mac."

Thank you very much. I did mean the former - and appreciate the information.

My friends I have recently found a solution to this problem, for those that don't like the idea of the Matrox and special resolution settings. Also, these products are less expensive.

DisplayLink: Expanding Your View

The product that I'm currently using is the EVGA UV16+ it gives me a maximum resolution of 1600x1050 which is plenty to drive my extra Dell 2007WFP. My main monitor is a Dell 2407WFP.

It's definately worth a look if you too struggle with only having one external monitor on a MBP.

At this time the drivers are in beta stages, and there are a few limitations, my application doesn't require the currently unsupported features (2d Accel, OpenGL), but as development continues I'm sure they will find a solution for those problems.

Cheers!
